*NOW FULL* The Watercress Rally

The Watercress rally will kindly be hosted by Steve & Madeline Barrett

 

 

On the Sunday there is the annual Watercress Festival in the town , over 80 stalls showcase the very best local food and drink producers, while others sell arts, crafts, jewellery and clothing, items for house, garden and more besides.  

 

King Alfreds, Winchester is just up the road, Salisbury, Romsey, Southampton and Portsmouth are within easy reach as well as lots of National Trust , English Heritage and Historic House properties.

 

There is the local scenic railroad in Alresford, The Watercress Line also.

 

The costs are £18 per night inc. EHU, but places are limited and so the very last date for joining is 10th April.

 

This will be a lovely, laid back rally. Please do as much or as little as you please.

 

Suggested itinerary;

 

The Watercress Rally or Welcome to Wessex!!

                        Where;   The Spinney Campsite, The Avenue, New Alresford, SO24 9EP.

                        When;    16th _ 21st May.

                  Whats on;     Thursday; Get set up, organise your dinner and an evening yarn in the Party Tent.
                                     Choose from the Fish and Chip menu so we can put in the order for Friday's evening meal in the Tent

                                      Friday;  Out and about to explore places like Winchester, Romsey, Alton, lots of Historic Houses,
                                                  National Trust and English Heritage sites to see.
                                                  Fish and Chip supper in the tent about 7.

                                   Saturday;  How about a ride on The Watercress Line just in the village, steam and diesel,
                                                  ride to Ropley and view the workshops, mending and restoring trains.
                                                  Boules match in the evening, please bring your boules!

                                   Sunday;  The Watercress Festival!!!    Get down there and buy all your local meat, salad and WATERCRESS
                                                for this evenings barbecue and American supper, all contributions welcome!

                                  Monday;  Again, go and explore, then a splendid quiz in the evening, cheesy bits and flag.

                                   Tuesday; Depart for all corners of the Empire!
