THE RETURN OF English craftmanship

MEET THE MERIDIENS the enchanting new range for 2006

FABULOUS FABRIC cool contrasts, top comfort

Remember the first time you slept in a caravan?  The quiet thrill of being close to nature?  New smells, new surroundings, the joy of escaping the daily grind?

At Fleetwood, we maintain this sense of discovery.  After 40 years, we still feel a child-like excitement when we uncover an unexpectedly neat design solution – a curved edge to a work surface, a secret storage area seen only by you.

You can see this attitude in all of our caravans, never more so than in the 2006 collection.

Fleetwood is one of the few marques still built in the UK.  We’ve produced caravans from our Long Melford headquarters in the heart of Suffolk for four decades, and we like to think that this heritage shows, Melford established itself in medieval times as a centre for the region’s woollen cloth industry.  The commitment to high quality craftsmanship at Fleetwood is a product of a stable, committed workforce – just like it was back then.

We go to enormous lengths (often literally) to source fixtures and fittings that we consider worthy of our build quality.  We believe that you can see and feel the difference, whether it’s in the design of a scatter cushion cover or the way a Fleetwood handles in reverse.

We hope that you enjoy our new brochure and the range it presents. If you have any comments or questions, we'll be delighted to hear from you.

Wishing you the best of adventures

.

Heritage Range

There comes a time when you know you deserve the luxury of a Fleetwood Heritage.  Widely acknowledged to be the best English touring caravan money can buy, its quality strikes home at every touch.

The clever body design makes for interiors that feel as if they are truly bespoke.  You’ll notice the small details like the satellite television connection points; the 2006 Caprice LPG cooker, candle-style reading lights; fitted microwaves and the clever glass sink and drainer cover which has been designed to provide an extra cutting board area.

Outside is just as impressive.  New graphics and model numbers complement the elegant high-gloss ABS front and rear elevation panels with spoiler overhang incorporating a high level brake light at the rear.

The Heritage has been designed for your enjoyment.  Relish it.

These are kitchens you’ll enjoy working in – the stylish design touches make it feel like home.  The 640-EB, 640-ES and 640-CB benefit from a superbly practical fridge-freezer stack as well as the handy fitted microwave found on all Heritage models.

On the floor, high quality loose carpets with bound edges rest on domestic-quality vinyl flooring.  We like to think of it as style for the real world, which means it looks great and is easy to look after.

2006 Security

This year’s Heritage range is more secure than ever. All caravans in the range feature:

  • Fully fitted Alko Secure system
  • Fleetwood ‘Protect’ Sold Secure Gold standard approved Alarm System with key fob operation
  • Thiefbeaters Theft Deterrent System carrying the coveted Sold Secure Gold Standard

Heritage 640-CB

The delightfully romantic layout of this 6.5 metre twin-axle Heritage provides spacious two berth accommodation with the option of easy adaptation to four-berths. L-shape seating at the front converts to a double bed. In the centre is the kitchen leading to an enclosed central double bedroom. A corridor past this leads to a large washroom designed to be accessed privately from either bedroom. The washroom also contains a large wardrobe and a separate shower area.

Heritage 640-ES

The best loved Heritage of all is the twin-axle four berth 6.5 metre model, and it’s not hard to see why. Parallel seating at the front converts to a spacious double bed. The centre kitchen leads to a washroom and shower across the caravan. A sliding door leads to a double bedroom at the rear. This extremely flexible layout could be adapted to provide day seating, twin beds and a six-berth facility.

Heritage 640-EB

Perfect for adventures with grandchildren! This twin-axle 6.5 metre Heritage is essentially a two-berth tourer with the facility for creating an additional berth from the central dinette. Parallel seating at the front end converts to a large double bed. There is a delightful L-shaped kitchen and a huge wash and shower room at the rear. You’ll also love the spacious wardrobe.

Heritage 560-4

This single-axle 5.5 metre four-berth tourer introduces what was one of the most popular Volante layouts to the Fleetwood Heritage range. An L-shaped seating area at the front converts into a double bed. A side kitchen occupies the centre area together with a large washroom and shower. A sliding door leads the way to an end bedroom with fixed twin beds between which a central locker.

Heritage 480-2EB

We’re very proud of the first two-berth Clubman in the Heritage range. This 4.5 metre two-berth single-axle tourer features an L-shaped seating area which converts into a large double bed. There is a washroom with separate shower at the rear, together with a cavernous wardrobe space. The centre is home to a practical kitchen and workspace.

Meridien Range

The Meridien is a new range for Fleetwood in 2006 and we’re justly proud of it.  These 21st century Clubmans are descended from directly from the Fleetwood Colchester range, the marque that has made Fleetwood famous for over 30 years.

We’re launching the Meridien range with five modern and stylish tourers.  From the very first glance, we think you’ll love them.  Outside, the Meridien’s styling is innovative.  A one-piece rear elevation panel in high gloss ABS features a striking spoiler overhang with high-level brake light.

Open the door and the Meridien delivers a real home welcome.  You’ll notice the Tosca home furnishing fabrics in an exclusive Chanel design, complemented by classic cream curtains with contrast tie-backs.

It’s a modern tourer with hard-wearing vinyl flooring, an especially contoured entrance mat, and worktops and tables that have been newly contoured for the new season.

We’re delighted with the new Meridien.  We fully expect you to be too.

2006 Features

The Meridien’s hard-wearing construction is based on an Alko chassis and running gear.

The range also benefits from an Alko ATS 3004 Stabiliser, Stabilform Corner Steadies and a Euro Overrun Device.

One alloy wheel is ready fitted with a Alko Secure Receiver to accept the complete Secure system.

Meridien 560-4EK

Meridien 560-5L – new for 2006

This all-new 5 metre five-berth tourer looks set to be a firm Fleetwood favourite. It’s a real family caravan with L-shaped seating at the forward end converting into a spacious double bed. A central sliding door leads to a tailor made children’s area with one long day seat on the rear off-side of the caravan. Opposite there is a dinette which converts into a single bed with Pullman bunk overhead. You could even choose to have an additional Pullman bunk on the off-side in order to create a six-berth Meridien. The practical kitchen is positioned centrally, as is the washroom and shower.

Meridien 520-4EB

This popular 5 metre family four-berth Clubman has a large washroom and shower at the rear. At the forward end, parallel seating converts into two singles or one double bed. The central kitchen is positioned opposite a dinette area with Pullman bunk overhead.

The Sonata

The Sonata range is the lightweight Euro-style family tourer in the Fleetwood stable.  It’s the superbly practical single-axle option, with four flexible layouts providing easy accommodation for every family.

Outside, the Sonatas wear their continental pedigree with pride.  The ABS front elevation panel has three front windows whilst the rear lower panel reflects the smooth side styling.  There’s a one-piece polyester roof and a white ABS A frame fairing.

You’ll notice the characteristic Fleetwood quality too, in finishing touches such as the alloy wheels (there’s a steel spare as standard), Zebion chenille soft furnishings, and ‘bleached beech’ style furniture.

Security and peace of mind are not forgotten either – every Sonata has the Thiefbeaters Theft Deterrent System fitted as standard as well as the Alko Secure Receiver.

Melody

This 5 metre five-berth family tourer features a central kitchen, central washroom and shower.  The layout provides optimum flexibility giving you the choice of seating, twin beds or double bed at the forward end, with a choice of seating or double bed with a Pullman bunk overhead at the rear.

Prelude

The six-berth 5 metre Prelude is the perfect solution for the growing family.  With U-shaped seating or a double bed at the forward end, a central kitchen, washroom and shower, the remainder of the layout provides a central dinette with Pullman bunk over, and a pair of rear fixed bed bunks – an area which can be cordoned off from the main body of the caravan – ideal for young children.

Nocturne

At 5 metres, this four-berth tourer features a fixed bed area at the rear leading to an en-suite toilet and washroom with shower cubicle.  The kitchen is in the centre and you choose whether to have seating or another double bed at the front.

Rhapsody

The Rhapsody is the classic 5 metre four-berth tourer.  The end washroom design leaves space for a large kitchen worktop area within the central dinette.  At the forward end, you choose between seating, twin beds or a double.  Twin bunk-style beds rest comfortably in the central area.
