The design starts with you

A caravan is a very personal choice – not only is it a major investment in your future recreation, but it is an expression of your taste, and of your confidence in the pleasure it will bring.

At Fleetwood we are caravanners too, and so we understand how much difference our decisions can make to the user-friendliness of your new tourer.  Details like the position of lighting overt the kitchen, the provision of somewhere for all those towels and toiletries in the washroom, putting shelves into our deep roof lockers and providing a choice of television location in many of our models are all examples of design features that contribute to your convenience.  Irritation factors like having nowhere to stand your wine glass or having a major struggle at bedtime to get at the duvet can make or mar your enjoyment, and so every Fleetwood model is subjected to a close scrutiny by the real caravanners amongst our staff to iron out these details before production goes ahead.

Good design does not stop at details, and in the past few years the innovative ideas of the Fleetwood design team have produced new layouts which have won critical acclaim of Press and public alike.  In fact Fleetwood has won no less than seven major awards for innovation, quality and value in the past two seasons.

Craftsmanship and Technology

We have been building caravans at our Long Melford factory for over 30 years, and our core workforce of skilled craftsmen know and understand the materials that go to make the modern touring caravan.  Carefully selected timber dried to the correct degree, high grade insulation and the latest sealants and adhesives chemically matched to the materials that must bond all have to be correctly and skilfully applied to make your new caravan an investment to be proud of.

The skills may be well established, but the tourer of the twenty first century embodies the very best utilisation of space, and has a whole range of up-to-date equipment integral to its design to provide you with the comfort and convenience you expect.  Thermostatically controlled central heating, pressurized water systems and domestic standard kitchen appliances are all part of the modern Fleetwood tourer, and must be installed so that the finished caravan is both functional and perfectly in balance for effortless towing on byways and motorways alike.  Computer Aided Design technology helps our designers to ensure optimum use of materials, space and equipment to provide you with a luxury holiday apartment that you are free to take with you anywhere you please.

Day or night, rain or shine your Fleetwood will take good care of you

Countryside 2001

Our star range of caravans designed with families in mind has been substantially revised over the past two years to offer a tailored package of space and equipment with a wide choice of layout.  Built to take the knocks of everyday living, the Countryside models come equipped with all that you will need for simply brilliant family holidays.  The wide body (at 7’3” one of the most spacious around) gives that extra sense of room to move, and all Countryside models feature two seating areas for those times of the day when kids and parents have their own agendas.  Established favourites remain, like the 450-4EK, with its mum-friendly kitchen, and the 500-5 with two well separated bedrooms for the optimum privacy, while the twin-axled 580-5 offers all the extra space for moving around and relaxing you could ask for at a price unique in this class.

There is nothing basic about the Countryside's either, as their standard equipment includes blinds and flyscreens, a full domestic cooker, blown air central heating and plenty of well-planned storage.  Where children are concerned you cannot be too careful, and so careful placement of power points, elimination of sharp edges and other safety factors have all received attention.

Despite their reasonable prices, Countryside models offer a special package of sturdiness, space and equipment and are outstanding value for money.

Heritage 2001

The award winning Heritage range has achieved industry-wide recognition over the last two years, finding an enthusiastic market among discerning caravanners.  From the start the Heritage combination of style and design flair has demanded attention, as the Fleetwood designers produced innovative layouts for living, which are as good to use as they are to look at.

Heritage owners enjoy peace of mind and the comforts of home thanks to Alde programmable liquid central heating and the luxurious Reflex foam seating upholstered in superb Belgian chenille fabrics.  The elegant décor is completed by hardwood framed furniture in warm Wild Cherry wood grain.  All models feature dedicated shower rooms and vanity areas where no effort has been spared in creating hotel standards of comfort and convenience.  For evenings in, the superb Karisma range-style cooker makes caravan cooking a pleasure, and whatever time of the year you take your breaks you will never be short of storage space in any of the generously equipped Heritage models.
