Timeline for KABE who owned Fleetwood Caravans Ltd from 1987 to 2004
KABE - Karosseri AB Elit.
1958 - Kurt Blomqvist constructed a caravan for his own family, but he sold it before the family had used it.
1959 - Kurt modestly started a caravan factory while he still worked for the Air Command.
1962 - Kurt left Air Command and worked full time on manufacturing caravans.
1969 – New factory buildings were completed and KABE started KAFI in Finland
1976 - A series of KABE caravans branded as the Nordica were produced at the Panther factory in England.
1985 - KABE started to use sandwich panels.
1986 - The spare part and accessory company Kama Fritid AB was founded.
1987 - KABE acquired the British company Fleetwood Caravan Ltd.
1995 – They acquired the bankrupt Öggestorp.
2003 - KABE sold 50% of the shares of its wholly-owned UK subsidiary Fleetwood Caravan Ltd to the Slovenian company Adria Mobil doo.
In connection with the transaction Fleetwood would take over the import rights to Adria's caravans in the United Kingdom. The deal would also have synergy effects on Fleetwood's materials procuring.
2004 - KABE sold the remaining 50% of Fleetwood Caravan Ltd to Adria.
