A Time of Memories - 20th Anniversary

Dear Members

Congratulations on reaching 20 years of rallying.

Cliff (my late husband) and I joined the club at the November Caravan Show as it started in the July. Our first rally was at Comberton. We had many laughs and did lots of fun things. Holidays all with a memory attached to them – York, when we celebrated Christmas – New Forest (Everton), a coach trip on Sunday, everywhere we went we seemed to get lost – Ripon, the trip to the Black Sheep brewery one evening by coach, well it clunked along at no great speed, but did we care, of course not – Whitstable, lots of laughs on that one. It was cold in the awning one evening and those there will knew what I mean – Ashburton, the site there was so high, some of us thought we would need a push. Then there were the Christmas rallies, first in Lincolnshire then later in Henham, put on by your new Vice Chairman and his wife Trish. It didn’t matter where we were Father Christmas always found us. Also there were the New Year rallies, the dressing up – music – 12 o’clock midnight. One of the most memorable rallies was our Ruby Wedding Rally. What a night that was, thanks to Trish and Alan. Also their Factory Visit Rallies with the curry supper and dancing in the Village Hall. Bonfire Rallies where we danced the night away fired up by the punch. June always called it Rocket Fuel. Then of course was the Dinner Dance. We all dressed up in our very best, but with the men in their dicky bows.

We made lots of friends but when Cliff became ill we had to part with the caravan and it was greatly missed. He was so happy when you made us Life Members.

My regards to you all.
