Kitchen

Kitchens in modern caravans have all the things you have at home including a microwave but when Fleetwood started production it wasn't like that.

2008 Heritage 560-4

Even in 1980 you didn't necessarily get an oven or fridge. (Read more about 1980 caravans by clicking on Fleetwood Caravans 1980 and Fleet of foot)

For those of you looking for parts there are a number of Links on the website that you might find useful.

We have two advertisers, Ennis Caravans and O'Leary Motorhomes who have both supported the Club since Fleetwood ceased trading and are willing, and able, to support owners in many instances.

To help owners find the parts they need, we've detailed some of the sources that have been suggested to us and those that we've identified. If you know of any others that we can add, please contact the Webmaster

Info - Ovens, Hobs, Cookers & Sinks

In the early years Fleetwood only fitted a hob & sink and didn't fit ovens as standard. Sales literature for the 1980 Colchester says there was provision for a full oven cooker but if you wanted one you would have to pay extra for it.

Info - Refrigeration

As with the ovens, Fleetwood didn't fit fridges as standard in the early years. In 1980 there was space for one as an optional extra unless you had the De-Luxe model when it was provided in with the price, which for the 1300 was an extra £781 more than the standard model

Info - Microwaves

Microwaves were fitted as standard in Fleetwood caravans as early as 1991.

Info - Colchester Kitchen Equipment

Kitchens in Fleetwood caravans have evolved through the years, our oldest sales literature for the Colchester in 1980 says “The spacious kitchen unit with stainless steel sink, faucet and tip-toe foot pump. Ample cupboard and storage space for your food and kitchen utensils. Holiday cooking is no chore”.

Info - Earthing issue RM7 Series Fridge/Freezer

The following came to light as a result of one of our members having a very bad experience with his fridge/freezer as fitted to his 2008 Heritage 640. The PCB controller within the unit failed and went into total meltdown.

Info - Recall Notice re Dometic Fridge Freezers

Dometic strongly advised caravan owners with the RM7 series double door Dometic fridge/freezers to call Dometic on free phone number 00800 3663 8420 or 01258 414595 to arrange a safety check as soon as possible, if they haven't already done so.

Q&A - Where can I get a new button for my fridge freezer?

Can you tell me where I can get a replacement button for the fridge freezer to turn it from gas to electric etc.?

Q&A - Why does my fridge keep tripping?

I’ve just purchased a 1999 Heritage 600-EB which has suffered from flood damage. The only electrical unit not to work after drying out seems to be the fridge which keeps tripping out.

Q&A - Where do I get a new oven door?

The oven door has smashed in our 1992 Colchester 1500-2EB. Where can we get replacement? Do you have details of what the cooker model number is?

Q&A - Where can I get a new sink seal?

I have a Fleetwood Colchester EB.  The sink tap has broken and as far as I can see the only way to remove it is to take out the fridge or take out the sink.

I'd rather take out the sink - I have removed four tiny screws and undone the waste coupler but it's stuck in there fast and I suspect it's held in by the seal round the edges.

Q&A - How do I remove the microwave?

How do we get the old Sharp microwave out of its compartment? It seems to be well and truly fixed!

Q&A - What size plate do I need for my LG microwave?

I have a 2003 Heritage 640-ES and am trying to track down the model number for the LG Combi Microwave so I can replace the broken turntable.

Q&A - Have other owners experienced a failed microwave?

The fitted Daewoo microwave in my Heritage 490-2 has failed after little use, and I am not surprised as it is fitted in a tight space with little or no ventilation.
Have any of your members experienced this problem and have they found a solution?
