I’m thinking of buying a Garland 185-EB. I have looked at previous posts regarding how to find out the year the van is. All it says on the plate by the door is the weight and model.
I was just wondering when did they start making the Garland 185-EB twin-axle and when did they stop making them?
Thanks very much for your time
Response
They started making the Garland in 1988 and stopped around 1997. The Garland 185 was introduced in 1992 and model with the end-bathroom, the 185-EB in 1995.
There are two ways of determining the age of your caravan depending on when it was produced.
Older vans have a plate near the door on the outside of the caravan. This will show the year, serial number and maximum laden weight. e.g. 89 FL00267 900kg
Later vans have a 17 character number will is die stamped into the caravan drawbar and chemically etched on up to 10 eye level windows this is called a Vehicle Identification Number (VIN).
You should receive a Touring Caravan Registration Document showing this
