Survey Results from Shield Total Insurance 2016

I’m contacting you on behalf of Shield Total Insurance, the UK’s leading camping and caravan insurance specialist. As a caravan/motorhome owners club, we thought you might be interested to see the results of our recent survey. We asked over 130 motorhome, caravan and camping enthusiasts about their experiences of using price comparison websites, and uncovered some surprising results.
In recent years price comparison websites have become hugely popular, with over six million UK consumers using MoneySupermarket alone last year. Despite this, our survey suggests that one in four people have been disappointed with the experience and nearly three quarters of people actually prefer to buy direct.
Despite cost savings being the main reason for using these websites, one in three people feel that they actually provide worse value for money than individual insurers, with over three quarters finding the average policy excess to be the same price or higher when buying via a price comparison engine.
