Improved Door Security

Have you taken your van abroad and worried about being broken into when you are asleep?

One member has come up with an ingenious way to make his door lock more secure.

BrianD's simple but very cost effective solution is described below with a few photos.

Fix a block of wood behind the door lock

With the door lever in the locked position, drill a hole through the handle, the main body of the pull handle and the wood block located behind.

The hole needs to be of sufficient size to insert a long pop rivet through the handle, body and wood block.

The photo shows the pop rivet in position with door locked

Brian also drilled a hole in the wood block to store the rivet when not being used.

The photo shows the door open with pop rivet stored ready for use
