In the 1970's there was no such thing as PINK FLUSH ADDITIVE, a fellow rallier at that time recommended adding a squirt of fairy liquid to the flushing water tank to help keep the bowl clean.

After all this time I still do not buy pink (only use it when it is a freebie).When using fairy it mixes properly even if the van has not been used for a while unlike pink which comes out all bitty.

NB In addition, the fairy liquid in the top tank helps lubricate the pump shaft to prevent it from seizing.

When we bought the van some three years ago, the lady who sold it gave us the tablets. She was told by someone in the caravan business to use these tablets as a substitute for Elsan blue. She had used this bottle for ages and it was still near full. The tablets are sold by Holland & Barratt they are high strength Brewers Yeast tablets 500mg size. We were told to add 6 tablets to the lower tank.

We still use the pink in the flush tank.

We have had no problems with this method and we use our toilet fully if you get my drift.
