Q&A - Lights work but not the sockets, why?

The electrical problem concerns the power supply within our 2007 Sonata Symphony insomuch as the lights will work but the power sockets do no respond. The isolator switch fuse appears OK but nothing is coming through to the power sockets.

I must confess that my wife allowed my grandson (in spite of my objections) to use his various computer gadgets, xbox etc. in the caravan during the recent cold spell together with the heating system switched on!!!.

He said all was OK when he shut down everything the previous night but the following day there was no power to the sockets.

Needless to say he'll be in the conservatory from now on wearing warm clothing!

Response

From what you say it should be a simple matter of resetting the main or one of the MCB's (circuit breakers) that will be located on the PDU (Power Distribution Unit) which you'll find located under the front seating area, normally on the off side of the caravan.

You will have a mains earth trip and three circuit breakers, the reset process is the same for all, press the switch down fully then draw it up fully, it will retain that position if it resets correctly.
