The Flyers Rally was held at Compton Abbas Airfield not far from Shaftsbury. It was a little too windy for any of us to brave a flight in an aircraft but we were happy to watch them practicing looping the loop one afternoon.
We used our new event shelter for the first time and we were grateful for the protection it gave from the elements. Phil & Wendy introduced a new game - Play your cards right - and we were soon calling out "Higher" and "Lower". |
It was a short drive to Shaftsbury and many of us visited Gold Hill where the famous Hovis advert was filmed. A trip out to Swanage on the steam train was organised and the travellers enjoyed fish & chips at a seafront cafe before returning on the train.
