There are two ways of determining the age/year of manufacture of your caravan depending on when it was produced.
Older vans have a plate near the door on the outside of the caravan. This will show the year, serial number and maximum laden weight. e.g. 89 FL00267 900kg.
89 is the year i.e. 1989
FL for Fleetwood (Pre 88 may not have this as in this 1981 example)
00267 the build number for that year

Later vans have a 17 character number which is die stamped into the caravan drawbar and chemically etched on up to 10 eye level windows this is called a Vehicle Identification Number (VIN). (You should receive a Touring Caravan Registration Document showing this from CRIS) |
