Q&A - How do I know what price I should pay for a Fleetwood?

From time to time we get queries regarding the value of Fleetwood's and what is a reasonable price to pay for them.

Query

Hi I'm thinking of returning to caravanning after some 30 years plus.

I've seen a 2005 Fleetwood Volante 4 berth I like being sold privately.
Is there any way I could find a value for the above?
Cheers

.....and also

Entirely new to caravanning .  I have been offered a 2002 Heritage 600-CB currently sited in France for £6,400. I have no idea if this is a reasonable price for a 14 year old van nor indeed if there is anything in particular I should look out for in this model.

Any views would be welcome. Not registered but happy to do so if necessary... I do not intend to take it very far from its current site....

Response

We as a Club don't offer a valuation service per say but if you take a look at our website under "Fleetwood For Sale" this takes you to Caravan Finder where you can search for similar units for sale.

Also under "Links" click on "Buying & Selling" then go onto "Nationwide Caravan Valuer" and that will give you a good feel of what value various caravans can attract.

The most important item to look out for by far is dampness as this can be expensive to repair, then it's a question of making sure everything installed actually works as intended by the manufacturer. Also, it's worth checking how long the unit has been sited, if that's been over an extended time you will need a roadworthy check as lots of things can deteriorate quickly, but don't worry overly about that as it's not expensive task.

Hope this helps, please feel free to ask further questions as needed and hopefully we'll be in a position soon to welcome you as a Fleetwood Owner, and possibly a Fleetwood Owners Club Member, if all goes well.
